Hailey Brunson (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist working across acting, directing, writing, and costume design. Rooted in bold storytelling, cultural specificity, and collaborative process, her work lives at the intersection of performance, storytelling, and community. Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Hailey has long embraced the power of being a holistic artist and is building a career shaped by artistry, authorship, and impact.
Her recent work spans performance, development, and creative leadership across respected institutions. Most recently, she portrayed Venus in the reading of AIN’T I A BEAUTY QUEEN with Center Theatre Group and appeared in BACCHANALIA as part of the SheLA Arts Summer Theater Festival. She also served as Assistant Director on GOSPEL AT COLONUS at the Tony Award–winning Court Theatre, in a production that was later presented at the Getty Villa. As a writer, Hailey is currently developing her first full-length play, CONDEMNED, which began its development with support from the Education Department at Center Theatre Group. Across mediums, she is drawn to work that is collaborative, community-centered, and alive with curiosity, conviction, and care. Hailey is a graduate of Northwestern University, where she earned a B.S. in Communication with a major in Theatre, a minor in Film and Media Studies, and completed the Acting for the Screen module. During her time there, she received two departmental awards and served as the Artistic Director of Sit & Spin Productions. She also worked as a Box Office Associate at the Wirtz Center for the Performing Arts, where she deepened her experience in arts leadership and administration. When she’s not creating, Hailey can be found teaching yoga, reading in the mountains, learning macramé, hiking, or deepening her affection for reality TV—often while wearing one of her many pairs of Crocs. |
