EdTA 2016 National Teachers Conference
Keynote Presentation Watch my presentation here! For my portion jump to 14:30-23:00 and 36:15-38:00 In May of 2016 I was asked to be a part of the Student Voices of Diversity Panel. The EdTA had learned about my story through my involvement with the International Thespian Society and my high school theatre program. I was asked to represent disability. Please view the panel, linked above, to hear my presentation. The honor in being on this panel truly lies in the opportunity to represent my peers, known and unknown. This was the first time I had openly discussed my illness and addressed my being biracial. However, in doing so I was able to fully embrace every powerful benefit of advocacy and service. I was allowed to represent an issue I care about, diversity in theatre. I was empowered and uplifted and hopefully made an impact on those who attended the conference. I am so thankful to the EdTA for this amazing opportunity. And for Grace Alt, Alexandra Rivers, and Salwa Meghjee for sitting on this panel with me. |
Rock Ridge High School Thespian Troupe 8104 is participating in TOTs EAT, a canned food drive, sponsored by ITS, to donate canned goods to food banks nation wide.
As the Ex-Officio I am teaming up with our Troupe President to participate in TOTs EAT for the first time at Rock Ridge High School. We are partnered with two local elementary schools and the middle school so this food drive reaches our entire community. This event is still currently going on, and updates will be posted!
